Mass timber was considered to help express the Seton Mixed Use building’s layout—taller, open office space below and smaller residential units above—organized like a tree from trunk to branch. Although it wasn’t needed for this building’s size or fire requirements, the tree-inspired structure still guides the design of the balconies, windows, and material details.
