Anine Wortmann AAA, MRAIC, M.Arch, MSc. CPM
Project Architect

Anine brings over 14 years of architectural experience shaped by a passion for community connection, environmental stewardship, and thoughtful design. Her approach is grounded in the belief that great architecture sits at the intersection of creativity, technical precision, and social impact.

Inspired from a young age by her father’s work as a structural engineer specializing in suspension bridges, and fueled by her own love for art, Anine naturally gravitated toward architecture—a field where these two influences seamlessly converge. This balance of artistic expression and technical expertise continues to guide her practice today.

Throughout her career, Anine has contributed to a diverse range of projects across South Africa, Quebec, and Alberta. Her portfolio spans retail precincts, tenant fit-ups, corporate interiors, leisure hotels, and campus master plans. Notable among these is the redevelopment of Montreal’s Marché Central, completed in collaboration with Ædifica, where she helped transform a sprawling commercial site into a pedestrian-friendly, community-focused hub that embraces urban farming. Her work also includes the master plan updates for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Trinity Western University, highlighting her commitment to shaping vibrant and sustainable educational environments.

Anine is a Registered Architect with The Alberta Association of Architects (AAA), and a member of both the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the Consulting Architects of Alberta (CAA). She was previously a member of l’Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ).

With a Master of Architecture and a Master of Building, Construction Project Management from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, Anine continues to bring a well-rounded and global perspective to her work. Among her professional aspirations is the opportunity to design a mixed-use fire hall in an urban setting—a dream sparked by her architectural thesis and one she hopes to realize in the future.

Outside of work, Anine finds joy in urban sketching while traveling, running, hiking, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
