Maureen Carrigy M.Arch
Intern Architect

Maureen joined Gravity Architecture in early 2023 with nearly a decade of experience in the architectural world as an Architectural Technologist. After exploring various university programs that failed to spark joy, Maureen finally found her passion in architecture and joined SAIT’s Architectural Technology program where she graduated with honours in 2014. After getting a taste of the working industry, she decided that she still had more to learn and enrolled at the University of Calgary to broaden her perspective and expand on her design skills. She completed a Bachelors of Arts in 2017, majoring in ancient history, followed by the completion of her Masters in Architecture in 2022.

Starting her career as an Architectural Technologist after graduating SAIT, Maureen joined Excel Homes where she contributed to over 200 residential projects in a little over four years. She then transitioned to Broadview Homes as a Designer, where she notably designed a BILD nominated single-family home in Calgary’s southwest community of Creekstone. Prior to joining Gravity Architecture, Maureen was employed at Vancouver-based firm Hodgson Design Associates where she contributed to many unique projects of varying scale and typology within Victoria and the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan area, such as the design of a custom contemporary residential infill, various commercial tenant improvement interior design, and a large-scale renovation of a seniors living facility.

With a passion for learning and intuitive design, Maureen now joins Gravity Architecture as an Intern Architect. Outside of the office you will often find Maureen enjoying time with her cats Meatloaf and Beans, exploring new charcuterie boards and wine pairings, or planning her next big travel adventure (pizza diet) across Europe.
