Bridgeland House

The Bridgeland House was a custom house built in the inner city community of Bridgeland by Rusch Projects. The architectural design was done by Gravity, and the interior design was done by McIntyre Bills.

The design originally began as a three storey house with a suite over the garage, each having a multi-faceted roof that provided as much headroom as possible within the Bylaw height limits. Through the design process, both the program and roof were simplified, resulting in a more elegant massing.

The interior spaces were designed around the steel stair and massive steel beam which supports the second floor and roof. While these elements could have resulted in an industrial edge, the warmth of the earthtone flooring and furnishings ensure a comfortable residential feel.
